• You must have an undergraduate degree in any recognized subject, preferably in the subject that you would be teaching.
• If you want to teach English in the destination country then you must either have TEFL, or TESL, TESOL certificates; it is a must-have qualification.
• It is always best to have higher educational qualifications, especially when you want to teach others.
• You must have a teaching license. It is mandatory in almost all the nations, especially for foreign nationals.
• You need to furnish documents proving your prior experience in teaching. Apart from these, different countries may require other documents that you can know during the application process. Make sure you have all of them before applying.
2. Where can you teach abroad?
There is no dearth of opportunities for teaching and places to teach. Conventionally, you can teach in schools – public, private, or any international schools, or in subject-specific institutions where you can work as a voluntary teacher in army schools in the USA, and through the Peace Corps in the same nation. You can also teach different skills, to differently-abled children and other participants. So, be sure to check the destination country, its demography, economic status, gender ratio, and other factors. With this information, you may come across the most promising teaching jobs abroad and enjoy a fulfilling career.
3. How to prepare for a teaching job abroad?
After getting qualified as a teacher to teach abroad you can prepare for a teaching job by following the below-mentioned steps.
• Different institutions have volunteering programs and recruit teachers according to their requirements. To begin with, you must have clarity regarding how you want to apply – whether you want to apply to different institutions (by yourself), apply to the recruitment notifications, or take up the opportunity to volunteer when such programs are announced.
• Decide in which country you want to go to teach, depending on your convenience and requirements.
• Create your resume specifically for the job that you are targeting. If needed you must have a separate resume for the different applications.
• Apply for teaching jobs according to the specified format; check and recheck before submitting.
