‘Awe’-factor is the Key to Remain Sharp and Physically Fit

Being positively curious is the way to achieve more

Sluggishness and a lack of motivation can do you more harm than intoxicants. A recent batch of studies came up with findings that confirm this and more.

The feeling that you may ‘miss the deadline,’ or actually miss them repeatedly, or that you don’t have much time for anything, is highly stressful. It affects your moral and mental health, and it shows up in your physical health as well. Feeling surprised and delighted at little things, fills you with satisfaction that cuts through regular stress, makes you more relaxed, and brings your attention to the present moment. Thus, you don’t worry about the future or sulk due to past experiences.

Feeling ‘awe’ at things also makes you positively curious, opens you up to learning experiences, and encourages you to be creative. Individuals struggling with stress, emotional blockages, and burnout are encouraged to engage in creative artwork, walk barefoot in nature, practice gardening, practice regular journaling, or talk to strangers with compassion.
