Declining GDP, Slowed Consumption and Unaffordable Higher Education

Inflation affecting higher education choices

A recent report published in The Week exposed an unfortunate state of demand for quality higher education. There has been a substantial decline in India’s GDP in the third quarter that flowed down to its consumption behavior as well. Middle-class and lower-middle-class families continue to struggle to meet regular and related expenses, leaving little to no money to afford higher education at reputed institutions. As a result, students are deprived of quality education or could merely get their degrees from mediocre institutions.

It’s a crucial challenge that needs immediate attention because the longer this continues, we will lose a significant chunk of merit from being nurtured in the best possible academic environment and contributing their part in the economy.
